EASTGATE SWIMMING AND RECREATION ASSOCIATION

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Guard breaks every hour for 10 minutes.

 

2. No smoking or alcoholic beverages permitted on the Eastgate Association Premises.

 

3. No pets permitted in the recreation or pool area.

 

4. Guest Fees

a. 3.00 dollars per person for guest. Guest may leave and return the same day at no extra charge, must be with member.

b. An in-town relative not living in a member’s home is considered a guest under the above rule and must pay the 3 dollars per day. A grandparent with member will not have to pay the 3.00 dollar fee.

 

5. Absolutely no parking on Euper Lane school property. All bicycles must park in the designated area.

 

6. Lifeguards have absolute authority on the Eastgate Association premises. Continued trouble making will be reason for suspension.

 

7. Lifeguards are to notify the Board of Directors of such persons or person ejected from the pool.

 

8. Use of profanity or PDA will be reason enough to be asked to leave the pool area.

 

9. A sixteen-year-old may bring a six to eight-year-old swimming member of the family to the pool.   The child MUST know how to swim.

10. Children nine to fifteen must pass a swimming test conducted by the life guard or Eastgate Pool Association Board Member to attend the swimming pool without a member parent.  See swim test requirements below.

11. Absolutely no running in pool area and no wrestling, horseplay, or abuse of pool property on the premises.

12. Appropriate swim attire must be worn in the pool (e.g. no blue jean cut offs allowed in pool)

​

13. No Styrofoam toys or floats allowed in the pool area.

​

14. No glass containers in the pool area.

​

15. All trash must be disposed of properly.

​

16. No Aqua socks are to worn in the pool.

​

17. Swimmers cannot hang on the rope in the large swimming pool.

​

18. Eastgate Pool Association is not responsible for children who leave the pool property.

​

19. Diving - Flips off of the diving board are allowed.  Children and minors must be under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian, regardless of age.  Lifeguard(s) on duty have the authority to restrict diving by any member or guest that appears to be putting themselves or others at risk.  Inquiries regarding diving restrictions must be submitted to the Board for review and consideration.

20. No inflatable tubes are allowed in the deep end of the diving pool.  No diving into tubes will be allowed.  No sliding into a tube will be allowed in the slide pool.

 

Pool party Rules will be available upon request at the pool

Eastgate Swimming and Recreation Swim Test Requirements

​

  • Children ages 9-15 may be left at the pool without direct adult supervision only after they have passed a one-time swim test.

  • Swim test must be administered by a certified lifeguard of Eastgate

  • Swimming and Recreation or a current board member and will be given only during 10 minute break each hour.

  • Swim test consists of:

    • Swim the length of the largest pool doing free style.

      • FACE MUST BE IN THE WATER and swimmer cannot touch the bottom or the side of the pool!

    • Tread water for 1 minute without touching the side or bottom of the pool.

      • This means keeping your head above water while staying in one place.

    • Jump off diving board and swim to ladder.

    • Climb out of swimming pool using ladder or side of pool.
